Title & Registration
Can I title & Register the Vehicle Outside of PA?
Several states and financial institutions have new regulations and requirements making the car-buying process more time-consuming. In certain circumstances, a dealership must have the physical title on hand before a vehicle can be sold to an out-of-state customer. Further, some dealerships will hold the vehicle until documentation is received and processed. We strongly advise out-of-state buyers to send us their motor vehicle documents, including driver's license, registration, and insurance, ahead of time so we can verify you have the required documents.
Can I Handle My Own Title & Registration?
It is the customer's responsibility to register the vehicle in their home state and pay the state sales tax. Some states require an inspection before a vehicle can be registered. All vehicles at Stuckey Automotive are inspected in the State of Pennsylvania, per the Department of Transportation's guidelines. This does not guarantee a vehicle will meet / pass the inspection requirements issued by another state.
How Long to Receive My Registration?
Our dealership will provide a temporary registration. Once expired, the vehicle is no longer considered legal and cannot be driven until the buyer secures a valid registration. It is the buyer's responsibility to register a vehicle in the state in which they reside within sixty (60) days from the date of purchase.
It May Be a While Before I Return Home, What Then?
This should not be a problem. Keep in mind some states require a vehicle / emission inspection before a title can be process or a vehicle can be registered.
